Here are a few websites with some reading list suggestions:

  • Book Adventure - Book Adventure is a fun, free way to motivate your child to read! Kids in grades K-8 can search for books, read them offline, come back to quiz on what they’ve read, and earn prizes for their reading success.
  • Children's Book Council - The Children’s Book Council works annually on reading lists and round-ups to help teachers, librarians, parents, caregivers, and booksellers discover wonderful books for the kids and teens in their lives.
  • Common Sense Media - 50 Books All Kids Should Read Before They're 12.
  • International Literacy Association - Children’s Choices is a reading list with a twist, in which children themselves evaluate the books and vote for their favorites. Since 1974, Children’s Choices has been a trusted source of book recommendations used by teachers, librarians, parents, and children themselves.
  • Mensa For Kids' Excellence in Reading - To encourage the joy of reading, the Foundation has developed the Mensa for Kids Excellence in Reading Program.
